Your Benefits of Being an OCC Member
The Oshawa Camera Club has been serving the Durham Photographic Community since 1938 and is one of the oldest running camera clubs in Ontario Our membership is quite diverse with talented members well versed in many genres of photography such as portraits, architecture, landscapes, wildlife, street, sports, studio and creative photography.
We are also a member of the Ontario Council of Camera Clubs (O3C), a network of over 37 Clubs across southern Ontario, ranging from Windsor to Ottawa and north to Haliburton.
The Club is also a big part of the Durham Community as it does get involved with the City of Oshawa, Durham Health, Artist in the Garden and other local services.
The goal of the Oshawa Camera Club is to bring together like-minded people and to nurture and develop the photography skills of our members. Your benefits include:
• Educational and inspirational presentations from professional and advanced level photographers
• Mentoring from advance level members/photographers
• First Steps Group – increasing your knowledge of photography and the various facets of our Club
• Novice and advanced levels for members
• Photo competitions with feedback from trained and certified judges on how to improve your photography
• Post competition breakdown of photos and show how the improvements would affect the photo
• Opportunities to share your photography without judgements
• Special interest groups that bring members together who share an interest in a particular area of photography and photo editing
